Onion Chutney is a mildly spicy and slightly sweet chutney made with sautéed onions, garlic, and tamarind. It is a perfect side dish for idli, dosa, or even plain rice.

Ingredients
2 onions (sliced)
2 garlic cloves
2 dried red chilies
½ teaspoon tamarind paste
1 teaspoon oil
Salt to taste
For Tempering
1 teaspoon oil
½ teaspoon mustard seeds
5-6 curry leaves
Step-by-Step Cooking Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Ingredients
Heat 1 teaspoon oil and sauté onions, garlic, and red chilies until onions turn golden.
Step 2: Blend the Chutney
Blend the mixture with tamarind paste and salt .
Step 3: Temper & Serve
Heat oil , add mustard seeds and curry leaves , pour over the chutney.
Serve with idli or dosa .
