Ingredients

  • 2 ripe tomatoes (chopped)
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 dried red chilies
  • ½ teaspoon mustard seeds
  • ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon oil

For Tempering

  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • ½ teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 5-6 curry leaves

Step-by-Step Cooking Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Tomatoes

  1. Heat 1 teaspoon oil in a pan.
  2. Add garlic, dried red chilies, mustard seeds, and cumin seeds.
  3. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until soft.

Step 2: Blend the Chutney

  1. Let the mixture cool and blend it into a smooth paste.

Step 3: Temper & Serve

  1. Heat 1 teaspoon oil, add mustard seeds and curry leaves, then pour over the chutney.
  2. Serve with dosa, idli, or chapati.
